Sonixtrip - Ep Launch

Over the past 10 years I’ve been playing in a number of bands.  Everything from hard rock, numetal, progressive and ambient.  Generally playing guitar, vocals, bass, and in later projects – synths, pianos and strings. It’s taught me so much about myself and the way people perceive music and performance.  In my ‘real’ life I was previously the National Events Manager for AIMIA.  Running, producing and staging over 40 events in the digital media industry.

It’s time I smashed the two together.

Next week I’m presenting 5 Things That Heavy Metal Taught Me About Conferences at the NSW KM Forum: The Future of Conferences.  I’m still formulating a lot of it, but hopefully will connect with you all about what I’ve learnt, and where I think things might be headed.

Making social media and music work.

A few weeks ago Mozilla announced the best add-ons for Firefox 3 – and one of them again identifies with the fact that we cannot simply create services. We need to make them as accessible as possible.

Last.fm already have an iPhone app, and now they have a great Firefox add-on called Fire.fm.  If you’ve never heard of Last.fm – it’s a must for any music lover.  It’s a social network for music – and like any useful service it uses the information in a valuable and engaging way:

Over the past few weeks I’ve been pulling together my very first online community: The Music Blogs (www.themusicblogs.com.au). The beta started over the weekend and we officially launched today (it was seeded with the previously removed content from ADP).
