Social Media Marketing: Sharing the knowledge, spreading the word

Work together and push this thing forward

Why would I need to say anything else? With the support of myself, Gavin Heaton, Laurel Papworth, and Zac Martin (just to name a few), Julian Cole wants to change the game for social media marketing in Australia.

This is where it begins.

You’ll see me in the Tour De France below in the blue lyrcra with titled Jay.

In summary:

  • We’re all breaking away from the pack (breaking the traditional paradigms)
  • Coming at it from different angles (advertisers, publishers, agencies etc).
  • Helping each other out
  • Sharing ideas
  • The people who will be the most powerful are the management consultants – key target to reach to build momentum and deliver the message in a powerful way.

I’ve personally never been much of a rider “Jay”!

You spelt forward wrong in the quote at the top. :P

Oh look there is so much more to social networks than media and marketing. It’s all a bit silly… trust me :)

Oops! Thanks for that Laurel :)

Oh I totally agree – the communities themselves the dialogue, which is where the value is. But the way they interact with one another is awe inspiring.

    Love them.

Zac: me neither, in fact I think I sold my bike when I was 15 for a playstation game. ;)

    Laurel,

I think that media and marketing is a big part of social media and can offer alot of value to the area, if it is done right. The marketing cross suggests that we should make it valuable for traders to come back to the market place. I think as bloggers/marketers in this area we should be trying to show how we can get companies involved to add value to the community.

Agreed – it’s the demonstration of these mediums that will allow us to start getting through to more decision makers.
