[16:44] p_berkel: you think its worthwhile signing up?
[16:45] jyesmith: I do. But I talk a lot, and more importantly, I like listening.
[16:46] p_berkel: well listening is where you learn the most
[16:46] jyesmith: like sharing ideas

That about sums that up.  @jyesmith

  1. Hi Jye

I think Twitter’s a wonderful thing. Amazing for a qualitative researcher!

  3. Twitter is best for people like yourself who if approached will interact, there are a lot of people on there that are stand offish and that is cool too, you just have to sift them out of your following list.

I’m going to be a lot more selective now with my list, but if anyone approaches me about something I’ve posted and wants a chat – I’m there!!!

  4. And that’s what I keep telling people – it’s up to you to make it relevant. Just like selecting RSS feeds, or Google RSS shares – pick your followers and you’ll forever be rewarded with relevant and influential content.

  7. Twitter has heaps of uses. But personally, I use it as a personal expert network. It is amazing what people will tell you if you ask nicely ;)

  8. Agreed – and I think that’s what I keep hammering home – tailor it to your needs. People are nice. Just be nice to people.
