Zac Martin put together an awesome visualisation of where he believes some of Australia’s marketing blogs fit together. The first thing that sprung out is that he, Julian Cole and I all sat in the same area.

Over the past 10 years I’ve been playing in a number of bands. Everything from hard rock, numetal, progressive and ambient. Generally playing guitar, vocals, bass, and in later projects – synths, pianos and strings. It’s taught me so much about myself and the way people perceive music and performance. In my ‘real’ life I was previously the National Events Manager for AIMIA. Running, producing and staging over 40 events in the digital media industry.
It’s time I smashed the two together.
Next week I’m presenting 5 Things That Heavy Metal Taught Me About Conferences at the NSW KM Forum: The Future of Conferences. I’m still formulating a lot of it, but hopefully will connect with you all about what I’ve learnt, and where I think things might be headed.
Feel free to listen, download, or even buy, my latest EP from Sonixtrip, or check out the new ‘publish-as-I-go’ progressive ambient project Movement & Measure. Hope to see you next week.
I’m young and curious. And somehow found myself a selection of peculiar Twitter accounts. What’s interesting is that most of these accounts started in 2007, and have very few followers, and generally fewer tweets. So whether you think Twitter is Great or you’re on team ‘Fuck Twitter’ – it’s definitely the topic of conversation.
After the Fijian consitution was thrown out over the weekend, the new military government now have censors which control the media. Even as far as having police officers in the news room with journalists.

I’m sorry, baking powder? SecretTweet is a site that allows you to submit your most scandalous secret anonymously. This is then tweeted by @SecretTweet and your sin is let loose to the world, without the fear of retribution or embarrassment. You’ve shared your pain, but nobody can laugh at you for it.
So what do people think about SecretTweet?
@cynjh secret tweets is so scandalous – it’s like dynasty on steroids.

@jestergoblin I THINK PEOPLE ON SECRET TWEET ARE BATSHIT INSANE.
Tim Burrowes – the founder of mUmbrella – was kind enough to offer his digital perspective this week.
What’s the biggest change you’ve seen in the digital media industry over the past 12 months?
Funnily enough, it’s the apparent collapse of the traditional models, particularly for newspapers and TV. Faced with the combination of the economic roadcrash and the shifting that comes when a new medium arrives, they are finally beginning to face the realities that they are going to have to engage with digital media, not hope it goes away like it conveniently did last time round after the dotcom crash.
But I’m not, by the way in the camp that thinks all papers are going to die. But just like the radio players eventually got their heads round TV 50 years ago, we’ll see the big media players really join the digital battleground.
